Service without humility is selfishness and egotism

Humility is indeed an important virtue when it comes to providing service to others. Without humility, service can become self-centered and driven by personal gain rather than genuine care for others. When someone approaches service with selfishness and egotism, their actions may be motivated by a desire for recognition, power, or personal benefit rather than a genuine desire to help others.

True service requires putting the needs and well-being of others before our own. It involves recognizing and acknowledging the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of their status or circumstances. Humility allows us to approach service with an open mind and a willingness to learn from those we seek to serve. It helps us to listen attentively, empathize with their experiences, and respond to their needs in a compassionate and respectful manner.

On the other hand, when service is driven by selfishness and egotism, it can lead to a disregard for the feelings, opinions, and needs of others. It may involve imposing our own ideas and solutions without considering the perspectives and desires of those we are serving. This approach can undermine the true purpose of service, which is to uplift and support others.

In summary, humility plays a crucial role in ensuring that service is selfless and focused on the well-being of others. Without humility, service can become distorted by selfishness and egotism, losing its genuine intention to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
