Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization~ Gandhi

India is a land of diversity, where you will find every culture and ethnic group is living under one roof with great happiness. In India, people welcome every other person with an open heart as we believe in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. We treat everyone with utmost respect and love. Every culture has respect for other cultures, that’s why we celebrate diversity.

We celebrate Durga Puja which is a bengali festival likewise we celebrate Navratri which is a Gujarati festival, both the festivals are same but we celebrate it in a different way. We celebrate Lohri (Punjab), Pongal(Tamil Nadu), Makar Sankranti (Bengal), Magh Bihu(Assam), each one of the festivals has its own way of celebration but still India and its people celebrate it as if it's their own festival.

We not only celebrate festivals but also we wear dresses from various other cultures which are their famous traditional clothes. Assam’s Assam Silk saree is very famous. Similarly, Rajasthani lehenga is very famous all over the world. This is the way we try to celebrate our culture and traditions in India. We do have unity with one another, as we always keep ourselves happy by celebrating one another.

It is a way to get civilised by celebrating festivals. Everyone has their own way of celebration so if we learn good things from it then we will become civilised. For example, in Dussehra Lord Ram put fire on the evil statue of Ravan which means that goodness should prevail over negativity. So if we learn from it we will also be able to put fire on negativity.
